Benefits of Coaching

As we can all relate 2020 was a difficult year. It allowed time for even the busiest person to take time to do some introspective reviews of their lives, businesses, and or careers. For some, they found themselves, in turmoil as their positions were eliminated or collapsed due to financial pressures. Some companies were unable to quickly pivot and adjust finding themselves, having to close their doors. Some industries were knocked off course, with traveling coming to a complete halt. From all sides, lives and jobs were lost, and we realized the devastation of how quickly things can change. Some organization were able to soar during this time, but wasn't ready to adjust quickly enough leaving a shortage of necessary products for a period of time. The key to surviving and thriving in 2020, was being able to adapt and change course quickly. How agile are you, and or your business?

I have found that clients are looking for coaches to help move them into the life, they desire versus the one they feel they are stuck in. I have also determined that some business owners and executives may not see the benefits of working with a coach until they start working with one. Most of my clients have said, more than once, that they didn't realize they needed a business/executive coach until they started working with me. My goal is that everyone understand the benefits of working with a life/business coach. Clearly defined coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and puts a focus on unlocking a person’s potential to maximize their own performance. It’s the process of helping someone to identify the answer they already have. In our practice, we are here to help you in very specific and tangible ways. Below are the top 5 key benefits that you can expect from coaching, although there are so many more.

  1. Introspection/Identify Blind Spots

  2. Well-constructed Assessment of Others

  3. Unimpaired Decision Making

  4. Build Highly Productive Relationships

  5. Sharpened Leadership Ability

#1 Introspection/Identify Blind Spots

I love the quote "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." Albert Einstein. When we don't do some introspection of our lives, leadership, and business we will be living this out. In order to grow and develop, you have to be able to be self-aware. I know that doing introspective work isn't the easiest thing to do, and there are times that you really don't like what you see or find, but you are able to make the necessary changes to avoid the pitfalls in the future. With a coach on your side, they are able to help you identify the blind spots that you may not be aware of. There are times, the blind spots are visible to you, but without that accountability, or someone else acknowledging them, you feel free to ignore them. When this happens, you create the same results over and over again. Growth is a gift that must be cultivated and self-awareness is key to doing that.

#2 Well-constructed Assessment of Others

Once you're able to see yourself clearly, you will be looking at others through a different lens. We often look at others through the optic lens of our own strengths, and weaknesses versus realizing the beauty of their differences. Without being able to clearly see our own blind spots, there is a good chance you are not able to see the strengths and weaknesses of others properly. A coach will allow you to be able to analyze and see perspectives you may not have considered before. This will allow you to make well-constructed assessments of others that can have a positive impact on your life, and business.

#3 Unimpaired Decision Making

Leadership of any type requires sound decision making skills. When you're able to expand your mindset through introspective review and change, and assess others abilities better, then the decisions you are making in all areas will become more defined. A coach will help through asking the tough questions, and thinking about your challenges with a different perspective. This will give you the ability to make decisions without struggling with your limited belief system. Unimpaired decision making is critical to success.

#4 Build Highly Productive Relationships

Leaders know that the most important asset you have are your people, and that goes for life as well. Zig Ziglar says, "You don't build a business you build people and then those people build the business." This can be used in all facets of our lives. The people we connect too are so important. Being able to build highly productive relationships is key to success. If you have identified your blind spots, and been able to properly assess other people, then your relationships will be stronger and better than ever. Emotional intelligence is an integral part of relationship building. When you have done the work with your coach to identify your limited belief system; you have the capacity to be more empathetic, and develop productive instead of unfruitful relationships. Relationships that will help you to maximize your potential, and give your business the boost you've so been looking for. Relationships are one of the greatest investments you will ever make, so choice wisely.

#5 Sharpened Leadership Abilities

"Leaders become great not because of their power but, because of their ability to empower others." -John Maxwell

There are so many ways that leaders can limit their ability to effectively lead their teams or families. Being able to identify those areas is where an effective coach comes in. Coaches help you to acknowledge the areas where you can empower and impact others. Through expanding your mindset in the ways we've discussed before, you now will have the ability to empower your teams to be effective. You will help equip people for success.

Like any other type of coach, when you have a talent or skill you want to perfect, you hire someone to help you. You hire a voice coach, or fitness coach, or sports coach to help you hone your skillset. As an individual, business owner, or executive, it makes sense to hire someone that can help you identify areas of opportunity, build actions that will bring you the greatest success, and empower you through the process. Coaching is a tool that will help you to drive your life, and business to its maximum potential. Remember, YOU'RE the best investment you can make. Take time to allow yourself to grow and flourish. We’re here to answer any questions you have and help you on your journey to the BEST VERSION OF YOU!
